"What Eerie said. Imagine Noble scored Adams goal away to chelsea..."

In that position Noble would have stopped, turned around and played the ball back to Collins.

You can see those sort of goals any Sunday on Hackney Marshes........maybe on the wrong pitch

A keeper standing on his line while the opposition are 10 yards within their own half? Righto

Re: Charlie Adams
Had the goalie been stood on his line then yes, fantastic goals but it was no more than a glorified lob cum pot shot.

Re: Charlie Adams
Lucky pot shot?

He drove the ball from 60 odd yards, he had to put that power on it otherwise it would never of made it. Had a split second to weigh up that he was off his line, ball was moving too. Astounding goal.

Re: Charlie Adams
Lucky pot shot, goal of the season my arse. Kouyate's goal against Man U was better.

Re: Charlie Adams
I've always thought these very long-range goals are massively overrated. Yes, they take skill of course, but spotting the goalie off his line and then sending what is effectively an excellent pinpoint long pass down the pitch should not, for me, be a contender for goal of the season let alone the greatest goal of all time.

It takes a much greater level of skill to do what Zamora did, or what the likes of Bergkamp, Giggs, Henry, Mata or Di Canio have done in the past.

Private Dancer 9:09 Mon Apr 6
Re: Charlie Adams
Zamora's was the best. He postage stamped it, which was the only way he could have scored from that angle, whilst on the run and under pressure. Rooney and Adams pretty much had the whole goal to aim for.

Re: Charlie Adams
Zamora's isn't a patch on Rooney's, and isn't as good as the Adam goal either. I'd be surprised if anyone who had played the game thought so.

Bobby Zamoras goal was the best of the day for me. Absolute sublime skill.

Fortified by the single pint of Gold Top I delivered to his door every other day! I believe it the protein and calcium I gave him that made him the player he was.

Re: Charlie Adams
Bobby's goal gets it from me!

Outside of the boot whilst on the run, being chased by a defender!

Cracking stuff, far harder than hitting a ball straight and hard as possible.

Also as Sven said the power in Rooney's goal on the swivel!!
Same can be said for Gomi's overhead.

Re: Charlie Adams
Problem is that Adams tries and messes those up at least once a game. Was bound to hit one right and catch out a keeper eventually. Nice goal though. Not as good as Bobby :)

Sven Roeder 12:52 Sun Apr 5
Re: Charlie Adams
Personally thought the Zamora & Rooney goals were better. Not even the best goal of the day.
That Rooney goal as he gets over the ball as it drops is just exceptional. Absolutely superb to hit a ball from that angle with that power.

Heard that Freddie Flintoff tweeted something like I don't watch much football but I've just seen a bloke who looks like a bus driver score the best goal ever.

Ha ha . Spot on!

Eerie Descent 12:30 Sun Apr 5
Re: Charlie Adams
Yep, that Rooney goal was an absolute belter. Nearly as good as his overhead kick.

Not bad for a bang average player who shouldn't be in the England SQUAD according to WHO football aficionados such as Sir Alf & Pagey.

Bloke kicks a ball between two white posts shocker!

Dailly scoring with his bollocks against Ipswich in a play off game about 10 years ago was better.

Re: Charlie Adams
Great goal looked up and bosh but Rooney's was also a bit special yesterday.
